Church History
In July 1989, at the home of one of the founding couples, 28 believers and Richard Grubbs as pastor, under the guidance the Holy Spirit, held planning sessions out of which Cornerstone Bible Church was formed. The church met in August 1989 at Sentinel Bookstore and in September commenced ministry at 3502 Slide Road in the Security Park Shopping Center.

Blessed by God’s provisions, the church purchased property at 82nd and Iola in August 1991. Ground was broken on March 23, 1997, to prepare for construction of our initial building. God used this facility to accommodate wonderful ministry for six years. Growing ministry demands mandated expansion of our facilities, and a new addition was begun in March of 2003 that tripled the physical size of our facilities.

God has used many saints who have ministered faithfully, given generously, served freely, and prayed diligently to make both our beginning structure and our new facility a reality. Through the years of our ministry God has used our church family and several staff members to extend the ministry of this church.
Pastor Grubbs served our church faithfully for 19 years leaving a lasting legacy of countless lives enriched by the clear and competent presentation of the Word of God.
Dr. Steve Spurlin joined the ministry team as Teaching Pastor culminating a 19 month search and review of over 100 pastoral candidates. Dr. Spurlin and his family began their ministry on June 27, 2010.
